Have i grown as a writer? For sure. I have improved as a writer by not only exposing myself to different kinds of writing, i have practiced writing in different forms. I have written poetry, studied grammar, and even blogged my own posts and for sure have learned how get my ideas down.
Did blogging make me better or worse? Blogging definatley helped me used my own creative writting to complete these assignments. I had my own voice and choose my own style of writting to get my point across, as often times i have difficulties expressing and writting assignments that do not work well with my writting style.
I still have a lot to work on as a writter, sometimes i forget to proof read and fix my work and this could be beyond harmful to my writting. Many times my professors tell me i have great idea but my sentences do not flow or carry lots of grammar issues, something i have always struggled with.
For a 3rd grade student i would intiate students to first write in a way they are most comfortable. Then gradually introduce other kinds of writing and ways to express their ideas differently. A good way to do this could be picking 3 different style writtings and have studnets pick which they would like to write wit, then have them share their pieces and expose children to more choices than the one they picked.
